The battery degradation information in TRONITY should be interpreted as an indicator, as we take the battery charges as a basis and the calculated ranges. Of course, both are slightly impacted across the seasons. However the overall goal remains, when you take a longer period of time, you can derive an indicator of a possible battery misbehavior or a major degradation.
The reason for that approach is because we retrieve the vehicle data via software interfaces, as we do not have direct access to the battery management system (BMS). The data retrieval via a HW modification (e.g. via ODB2) and direct access to the BMS, is of course more precise with regards to the information about the battery degradation.
Information: The degradation of the battery can only be displayed for the period in which the vehicle data is recorded via TRONITY.
