1 - Store the virtual data key in the vehicle
- Open this link to Tesla on your PC/laptop: https://www.tesla.com/_ak/register.tronity.tech
- Scan the QR code displayed there using your phone, on which the Tesla app is also installed.
- The Tesla app will open.
- You can now store the data key in the vehicle.
Note: If you are unable to add the virtual data key using the Tesla app (for example, if you are not the vehicle owner as part of a car subscription), you must store the virtual data key directly in the vehicle. Please take your smartphone, with the Tesla app installed, and open the following link while you are inside the vehicle: https://www.tesla.com/_ak/register.tronity.tech
The Tesla app will then guide you through the necessary steps. Finally, you must confirm the process using the Tesla key card inside the vehicle to ensure that you are the authorized driver.
Note: If you manage multiple Tesla vehicles through the Tesla app, please select the appropriate vehicle in the app before scanning the QR code.
Note: If you use Chrome as the default browser on your iPhone, iOS may cause issues. Please open the links with Safari.
Note: The latest available software version must be installed on the vehicle.
2 - Activate the new data retrieval in the TRONITY app
- Open the TRONITY App.
- Confirm the activation by clicking on the information message.
- You will then receive a confirmation in the TRONITY App.
3 - Release of Vehicle Location
Once the virtual data key has been stored in the vehicle and activated in TONITY, data exchange can begin. In order for the vehicle’s location to be accessible (for example, as a basis for a digital logbook), the corresponding data sharing setting must be enabled in Tesla’s system. For new registrations, this setting is generally enabled by default. If it is disabled, you can activate it using the following link:

Important: Afterwards, you need to update your login credentials in the TRONITY app or in the TRONITY web version. To do so, open the TRONITY Vehicle Garage (link to the garage in the TRONITY web version) and select “Login updated.”
